“Just like I’m interested in contemporary art, music, all sorts of things, I’m fascinated by pop culture, and people’s fascination with her and other contemporary icons, as I call them. As soon as I saw her after the Louis Vuitton show for spring/summer 2008, when she came backstage, I got the idea and went to see her at the Ritz. We spoke about the irony and perversity of it, and she totally got it.”

- Marc Jacobs to the Independent on hiring Victoria Beckham as the face of his signature brand for spring/summer 2008.

Naomi Campbell, one of the most famous and beautiful women in the world, and known for her Intemperate behavior, will be immortalized in sculpture. She has been posing for photographer Nick Knight, who is using three-dimensional scanners to create the sculptures, which will be ready by the end of the year, reports the Independent.

He scanned Campbell “straddling the barrel of a large tank” which will form one sculpture. Another will be a “circle of three Naomis, like The Three Graces”, but designed to be viewed from within the circle and in a darkened room. Mr Knight is still to decide what material to use for the sculptures, with alabaster and glass fibre both possible.

Is America too conservative for a naked Eva Mendes?

Author: admin  //  Category: Fashion News

Eva Mendes is never shy to show herself nude, but her new ad campaign (shot by Steven Meisel) for Calvin Klein’s  Secret Obsession scent is causing quite a stir in the U.S. Network censors have banned it.

According to a rep for Coty who produced the scent in the ad, ‘It’s clear Eva is having illicit thoughts’, but they are adamant they did not intend to offend anybody.’We wanted to do a provocative ad. But we we’re not trying to be raunchy’, Catherine Walsh, senior vice president of American fragrances for Coty Prestige told Womenswear Daily.’There’s a lot of skin, but it’s tastefully done.’ ‘We’re going to fight it’.

If this innocent ad campaign is too sexy for US censors, what would they say when see Eva Mendes’ photoshoot for Vogue Italia?

Russian beauty Maria Sharapova is known for the trendy clothing she wears on the court. Yesterday, the tennis ace signed with Tiffany & Co to wear their jewellery during some of her most important forthcoming matches.

As Elle reports, Sharapova will wear eight different sets of Tiffany earrings during eight different grand slam matches over the next two years.

“Maria Sharapova is a longtime friend of Tiffany and a champion on and off the court,” said Linda Buckley, vice president of worldwide public relations for Tiffany. “It gives us great pleasure to accent her on-court look with earrings that epitomize both the quality of her championship play and Tiffany’s reputation for design excellence.”

Yes, we do remember the sparkling princess diadema she wore on her birthday party, but hope, she is not going to wear something like that on the court.
