Anna Wintour, the editor-in-chief of American Vogue has been awarded an Officer of the Order of the British Empire for her services to both British journalism and British fashion in the United States, reports The Telegraph.
Wintour, a controversial figure in the Fashion industry, is said to be the inspiration for the “boss from hell” character in the best selling book and movie, The Devil Wears Prada.
Wintour who rises before 6:00 am every day is reportedly paid $2 million dollars a year. She is a regular fixture on the front row of the world’s cat walks and her trade mark sunglasses and bob have become something of a cause celebre.
