‘The Model as Muse: Embodying Fashion’ is the main theme of an upcoming Costume Institute Gala. Fashion’s most glamorous night will be hosted by Kate Moss, teaming up with Justin Timberlake, Marc Jacobs and Anna Wintour.

Exploring the relationship between fashion and beauty, the exhibition will focus on the iconic models of the 20th century, including Naomi Campbell, Gisele, Jerry Hall, Cindy Crawford, and of course, Moss herself.
Speaking to WWD, Jacobs explained the concept: ‘The idea of muses or models, whether it is someone you know or someone you have seen in an image, someone of your imagination or a creature of your own invention, is important to every designer and every collection,’ he explained.
Every year, the Costume Institute Gala attracts A-listers and fashion faces, with this year’s red carpet embracing the likes of the Beckhams, Jennifer Lopez, Kate Bosworth, Katie Holmes and Beyoncé.

Months ago we reported that Nicole Richie was planning to launch a jewelry line named after her daughter Harlow. There were no details available, but we now see Nicole wearing some fancy jewelry from her line. She is sporting some heavy gold and lacquered bracelets, an oversized cocktail ring and even her gold headband.

House of Harlow 1960, which is scheduled to debut at Kitson in early December, will be a 35 piece collection ranging in price from $50 to $250 and inspired by Nicole’s sought-after style. Teaming up with celeb jeweler Pascal Mouawad, Nicole’s line uses leather, silk strings, chains, rivets, gold plated metals, peacock feathers and jewel-tone colors to explore themes such as bohemian, gypsy, tribal, flower child and edgy street wear. So far, we think House of Harlow 1960 perfectly reflects Nicole’s style.

This is just in: Following the foot steps of her hubby David Beckham, Victoria Beckham will strip for Armani’s underwear ad campaign.
In a press release, the fashion house confirmed, ‘Victoria is a style icon, a dynamic lady whose influence and recognition will add great excitement to the continued international growth of our Emporio Armani women’s underwear business.’
Set to star in the spring/summer ‘09 worldwide advertising campaign, Posh has been photographed by celebrated fashion photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.
She said, ‘It’s a huge compliment being asked to be in the campaign and to be part of the worldwide campaign for Emporio Armani underwear. It’s really exciting to me. Mr Armani is a lovely person and his team is fantastic, so it’s a really exciting project for me to be involved with. And hopefully they will see a huge response.’
Will her ads stop traffic?

There are many reasons to love Halloween. We adore it because people from the fashion world show their sense of humor and dress up as we’ve never see them before. Last year it was Italian designer Roberto Cavalli who put on a white wig and fingerless gloves parodying Karl Lagerfeld. This year, it was Cindy Crawford who shocked the public, appearing as Amy Winehouse.

She attended Kate Hudson’s party in L.A. dressed up as the Amy in tattoos and strappy animal print dress. A Halloween fright to be sure.

64-year-old model Lauren Hutton has always been one of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s muses. The twins asked her to model for their clothing line’s ad campaign and she agreed. Hutton could even make a catwalk comeback as part of the role.
“She’s just a wise woman and she’s a traveler and she’s obviously a style icon,” MK tells CONTACTMUSIC.COM, while Ashley adds: “She’s older and she’s beautiful, and that is sexy to us.”

Hutton is also the face of Mango’s autumn/winter 2008-9 collection.
