Lindsay Lohan was attacked with flour by an angry PETA protester as she arrived at the VIP Room Theatre in Paris on Saturday night.

Lindsay dusted herself down, but her girlfriend Samantha Ronson wasn’t so happy.
She later posted her thoughts about it on her MySpace blog.

‘The girl who threw [the flour] acted like an animal herself. I take that back, it’s an insult to animals to group her in with them, my dog is FAR more civilized than that person,’ she wrote. PETA should focus their efforts on educating people on what they believe are injustices instead of seeking press via harassing those in the limelight.’

PETA spotted Kate Winslet posing with a fox fur in her new photoshoot for Vanity Fair. The actress who never wears fur, believed that the fur used in the shoot was fake.

The magazine revealed that the shoot included a £11,500 throw by Frette, which was made from the pelts of six silver foxes.

A spokesperson for Vanity Fair stated, ‘Although there were both real and fake furs on set, the fur used in the photograph is real. We thought Miss Winslet was aware of this and we’re sorry for the miscommunication.’

‘She thought it was false. There was apparently false fur there and real fur there, and she definitely understood it was false,’ Winslet’s publicist commented.

The bearskin hats worn by the guards at Buckingham Palace  are the  subject of PETA criticism these days, with an unknown number of activists protesting, even outside the palace.

And when the animal rights group met with the Ministry of Defense to discuss ideas for replacing the iconic hats, the names of Stella McCartney and Vivienne Westwood came to the forefront. They will design a new, ethically-friendly alternative to that bearskin hats.

“Most people think it’s fake fur and when they find out it’s real and it takes one bear to make a hat, they are appalled,” Robbie LeBlanc, PETA’s director for Europe, told the BBC.

Gwyneth Paltrow has angered PETA, by wearing fur in a new advertising campaign for luxury Italian fashion label Tod’s. The campaign, which was shot in Capri by Mario Testino, features the 35-year-old actress in fox fur and wearing fur-lined boots.

Animal right activists have already aired their reaction by calling her stupid,  and said that Gwyneth should be ashamed.

Gwyneth Paltrow is a close friend of Stella McCartney, the designer who is a strong supporter of PETA. Will their friendship end?

Pope Benedict has been criticized by animal rights activists for wearing fur.

The Italian Association for the Defense of Animals and the Environment launched an online petition appealing to the Pope not to wear his fur-trimmed robes. Anti-fur protesters have gathered 2,260 signatures for the petition.

“The pope has often talked about protecting the environment and we are asking that he acknowledges that animals, as God’s creation, also deserve respect,” said Lorenzo Croce, head of the organization.

Hockley, the British boutique that stocks the world’s best fur designers, revealed its ad of a model wearing Stella McCartney’s underwear with a luxury fur coat.

The Daily Mail reports that Stella McCartney ‘went absolutely ballistic when she saw it.’ and furiously demanded Hockley to drop this advert. The 36-year-old designer is a well known animal rights campaigner who refuses to use fur or leather in her own collections.

Last night Hockley apologized and said that it would not be using the advert again.
